We also talk with our good friend Anne Ream, Director of the Voices and Faces Project and author of of Lived Through This: Listening to the Stories of Sexual Violence Survivors

Tonight’s show is about the multi-billion dollar business that is sex trafficking. It’s about women’s bodies as profit centers, slavery and violence against women.

Including segments on the  Hobby Lobby decision, comedy from Lady Parts Justice, incredible music from the Voices and Faces Project and The Angel Band CDs plus a scathing commentary on George Will’s, well, idiocy.

Please join us for this important provocative show Friday July 25th, at 9:30 on WFMT.

Hobby Lobby Decision is a Slippery Slope and a Whole Lot of Wrong!

July 3rd, 2014 by admin

hiringIf having faith means denying a human being healthcare then America, our faith has been shaken to the core.

“Hobby Lobby, a chain of craft stores, decided it didn’t want to cover birth control in its mandated employee health insurance because its owners oppose abortion and felt that birth control pills were an abortifacient. These beliefs are wrong — that is, factually incorrect — but nevertheless we had to let the Supreme Court decide just how important actual facts are.”

Funny, I woke up this morning just thinking I had WAY to much control over my reproductive system. Thank “God” someone has taken that control out of my hands.

And the taking won’t stop there.

a BBQ restaurant owner claimed that he was within his rights to refuse service to blacks based on his religious beliefs. In the case brought before the Supreme Court, Maurice Bessinger stated that his religion required him to keep black people from eating in his restaurant, although he was perfectly OK with taking their money, so long as they ordered their food to-go. – See more at: http://www.forwardprogressives.com/sc-restaurant-owner-refuses-serve-blacks-cites-religious-beliefs/#sthash.euRom9mi.dpuf

In South Carolina: “A BBQ restaurant owner claimed that he was within his rights to refuse service to blacks based on his religious beliefs. In the case brought before the Supreme Court, Maurice Bessinger stated that his religion required him to keep black people from eating in his restaurant, although he was perfectly OK with taking their money, so long as they ordered their food to-go.”

And look out Gay Rights, the faithful are coming for you too! ” A group of faith leaders is urging the Obama administration to include a religious exemption in a forthcoming LGBT anti-discrimination action.”

This is a hot mess of religious condemnation rolling down the magic mountain of  “faithfulness” made up of a majority of  hypocrites and we should not stand for it! Now more than ever we need to speak up for our bodies, our sexuality and our humanity.

Amen.

Time to boycott!
